Sri Ramanasramam is a spiritual center where Ramana Maharshi lived for 55 years until his death in 1950. It is located at the base of the sacred mountain Arunachala, which has been highly revered as a source of great spiritual power since ancient times

Location: Tiruvannamali, Tamilnadu, India. About 160 Km from Chennai.
Accommodation: Visitors wishing to stay at Sri Ramanasramam should send an email to stay@gururamana.org two month in advance to check on the availability and are advised to choose days avoiding in and around full moon. Short stay of 3 days is recommended.

There are no charges for ashram accommodation/food.
Food: South Indian-style vegetarian food is served in the Ashram dining hall for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea/milk, and dinner.
Ashram food is restricted to room guests/inmates.
Basics: It is expected that the devotees come to the Ashram for a period of quiet study, reflection, and meditation only. Switch off or Silence the Mobile Phones at all times when within the Ashram.
The places to visit in the Ashram includes the New Hall, Matrubhuteswara Temple, Sri Maharshi’s Samadhi, The Old Hall, The Nirvana Room, Virupaksha Cave and Skandasramam.
Activities:


Trek to Skanda Ashram & Virupaksha Cave from Ramana Ashram, distance is about 1 1/2 km one way(Access is available also from Arunachala temple)

There are a couple of important Ashrams nearby namely Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ashramam and Sri Seshadri Swamigal Ashramam which may be of interest to the visitors.
